I’m host of finish the sentence friday this week because this week’s topic was my idea. Of course it was. Once you read it, it has me written all over it… So without further adieu
The first thing you must do to take over the world is…
The first thing you must do to take over the world is be a good person. I know, here you thought it would be random like, “Use the bathroom,” or “invest in pharmaceuticals,” but you’re getting ahead of yourself. Those are not until later. The first step is to be a good person. If you aren’t a good person, please don’t go to step two. Instead, go to church. Honestly, in order to take over the world, you have to sacrifice, like Jesus Christ did back when He took over the world, and only a good person would be willing to go through that much bull shit for the better welfare of everyone else.
The evil way doesn’t really actually take over the world because destroying the world isn’t the same thing as taking it, but it’s probably more fun to try because you get to play with explosives and large militaries. If you want to go the evil way, you’ll eventually need to sign up for the New World Order and other places like that (I hear you get free address labels with the Illuminati). But since that would really suck for the rest of us, I kind of want to promote the good way by telling you the first step is to be a good person.
But honestly, we already took over the world: not as an individual, but as a species. Humans inhabit most of this earth as the top of the food chain. What we do with this power is what makes the world. It’s what defines our world.
When you do for others, you are taking over a little bit of the world with you. You are claiming stake in the world in the name of goodness and benevolence. Random acts of kindness is more like your way of decorating what is already yours.
